About.com's French Language Guide, Laura, is a freelance translator and has written seven books.
Experience:
Laura began learning French in 1987 and loved it so much that she decided to learn another language (Spanish) two years later. She lived in Morocco for 2½ years and currently lives in the South of France. Her fourth French book, Intermediate French for Dummies (compare prices), was published in 2008.
Education:
Laura has a BA in International Studies with unofficial minors in French and Spanish from Monterey Institute of International Studies, and also spent a year in MIIS' MA program in translation + interpretation. In addition, Laura did some graduate work in linguistics and translation at San José State University, spent 6 weeks studying French business and culture at l'Institut de formation internationale near Rouen, France, and has studied at the Alliance française in Toulouse, France.
